Diogenes Verlag is the largest independent fiction publisher in Europe and publishes international literature, art, and children-s books.

To strengthen our advertising department, we are looking immediately or by arrangement for a Graphic Designer (with focus on layout and print production); m/f/d 80 - 100%

Do you have solid experience in publishing and know the processes from the programme preview to the finished advertising material? Do you work precisely, keep an overview even with several productions running in parallel, and have a feel for typographically and visually convincing design within an established publishing language? Then we look forward to your application.

Your tasks:

· Design, layout, and final artwork of print and digital advertising materials within our existing design language with a focus on our programme previews

· Typesetting and preparation of print-ready data for previews, flyers, posters, POS materials, and advertisements

· Independent coordination of print productions including quotation management, production monitoring, as well as deadline and quality control

· Application and maintenance of our layout and design guidelines to ensure a consistent brand and publishing language

· Adaptation and optimisation of campaign visuals for digital channels

· Careful data management including archiving and versioning

Your profile:

· Training or degree in graphic design, visual communication, or comparable qualification

· Several years of professional experience in publishing or a comparable industry with demanding production processes

· Confident design sensibility and the ability to immerse yourself in an existing brand world and work within its design language

· Sound knowledge of prepress, typesetting, and typography in the book and advertising environment

· Confident use of Adobe Creative Cloud, especially InDesign and Photoshop

· Structured, precise, and independent working style with a high standard of quality

· Organisational strength and confidence in handling parallel projects and tight deadlines
