You provide senior technical leadership for the operation, reliability and lifecycle management of scientific computing platforms across cloud and hybrid infrastructure.
Tasks
- Lead complex L3 and selected L2 platform operations and continuous improvement
- Build automation, tooling, observability, monitoring and alerting capabilities
- Provide technical leadership for AWS, on-premises and hybrid compute, storage and networking
- Participate in incident response and root cause analysis
- Support data lifecycle, access, identity and integration requirements
- Provide technical direction and mentoring to junior engineers and contractors
Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
- Typically 4-7 years of relevant professional experience
- Strong experience with Amazon Web Services and Linux systems, networking, storage and distributed systems
- Experience leading technical discussions and coordinating work across multiple contributors
- Software development or scripting experience in Python, Go or Bash
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools
- Experience with containers, orchestration and CI/CD or GitOps practices
