Aufgaben-/Stellenbeschreibung
You will be part of an experienced team and be the expert for analog/mixed-signal in the DZ.
You will own the analog/mixed-signal area of the IC design infrastructure and further develop it with the aim to provide support to researchers and students.
You will support design flows covering all aspects of IC design with a strong focus on analog/mixed-signal design flows using the latest tools from Cadence Design System, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics and open-source tools.
You will interact with students and researchers to help them with their IC design related questions, chip finishing and submission of ICs to fabrication through MPW and foundry contacts.
You will also be asked to develop, adapt and maintain common building blocks for mixed-signal IC chips as well as the development of larger mixed-signal ICs.
As part of a team supporting research and teaching at ETH Zurich, you will frequently be challenged to develop solutions for systems that stretch the boundaries of conventional approaches.
You will be asked to help researchers and students through design reviews.
You will also develop and deliver targeted training modules and hands-on laboratory sessions for students and researchers in these areas.

Ihr Profil
We are looking for an experienced IC designer with strong expertise in analog/mixed-signal design, motivated to work in an environment where creative technical problem-solving supports researchers and students. Given the level and breadth of the technical challenges involved, a PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering is preferred. Candidates should bring at least 5 years of IC design experience, gained in industry or at a qualified research institution, including hands-on familiarity with tape-out procedures. A track record of multiple successful analog/mixed-signal tape-outs across a range of technology nodes, including advanced ones such as 22nm and FinFET, is required, as is experience leading chip tape-out projects. Proficiency with UNIX, scripting languages, and IC design tools from major EDA vendors is also required. Good written and spoken English is essential for technical collaboration in a multicultural environment. Experience organizing technical training courses and undergraduate laboratory activities is highly desirable. The ideal candidate combines strong communication and technical skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences and is comfortable taking on a leading and senior technical role within the team.
