Location: Zurich (hybrid) Workload: 80-100% Start: By agreement A Swiss AI company harnesses the capabilities of large language models on infrastructure it operates itself in Switzerland, including its own hardware. We are looking for a Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer who is deeply immersed in CI/CD, excels at automation scripting and has an innate understanding of infrastructure as code. You report directly to the CTO; the team is small, the scope is wide and the decisions are genuinely yours. Your tasks: You collaborate with developers to build reliable and scalable pipelines that ensure continuous automated releases. You coach frontend and backend engineers so they actively monitor their code in a live environment. You steer discussions on scalable architecture, informed by the trade-offs as well as the financial and security implications. You streamline software releases and safeguard the integrity and efficiency of deployments. You manage, monitor and scale the infrastructure, from the clusters the services run on to the hardware behind the models. You maintain meticulous documentation on deployments, processes and essential tools. You ensure system reliability, availability and performance, also during unexpected challenges. You share on-call duty with the team. Your profile: Solid production experience with containers and Kubernetes and with GitOps-style delivery Comfort managing secrets and access as code (SOPS, Vault or similar) with an instinct for least privilege Experience operating stateful workloads: relational databases, caches and message queues carrying real customer data A practical view of observability and the ability to help an engineer debug their own service Robust scripting skills plus fluency in a language such as Python, TypeScript or a JVM language Analytical and problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot intricate issues Effective communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mentality Around four years of hands-on experience running systems you were on call for Fluent German and English Nice to have: GPU workloads or model-serving performance, and experience in regulated environments (data residency, audits, ISO 27001) Your benefits: Eligibility for the company's share programme after an initiation period A dynamic, innovative company that values out-of-the-box thinking A professional, goal-oriented culture with fairness, respect and encouraged autonomy A high level of personal responsibility and collaboration with innovative minds in AI Infrastructure that is genuinely yours to shape, including hardware you can walk up to
