Natural Gas Trader

Our client, an international company active in the energy trading sector, is seeking a Natural Gas Trader to join its growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing proprietary trading activities across European gas markets, identifying market opportunities and contributing directly to business performance. ###

Key Responsibilities ##

• Manage a proprietary trading portfolio within approved risk limits and trading mandates.
• Develop and execute trading strategies across European natural gas markets.
• Identify and capture trading and optimization opportunities in both physical and financial gas markets.
• Monitor market developments, liquidity dynamics and counterparty exposure to effectively manage risk.
• Actively manage positions, exposures and maturities to optimize portfolio performance.
• Prepare and present regular reports on trading performance, market positioning and risk exposure.
• Collaborate closely with Risk Management and other internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with risk policies and procedures.

Requirements ##

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in European natural gas trading or closely related energy markets.
• Strong understanding of physical and financial gas markets.
• Solid analytical and quantitative skills with a disciplined approach to risk management.
• Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced trading environment.
• Fluency in English.
• Knowledge of German, French, Italian or Spanish is considered an asset.
• Good IT skills and familiarity with trading and market analysis tools are a plus.
