Your Tasks:

• Design, develop, and integrate FPGA-based embedded systems using Xilinx Zynq platforms
• Develop and maintain FPGA firmware frameworks, register maps, and hardware/software interfaces
• Implement and optimize PCIe communication and FPGA-to-Linux integration, including efficient data transfer and DMA mechanisms
• Design and implement high-speed optical communication interfaces, including Fiber Link MAP, GT transceivers, and custom communication protocols
• Optimize communication performance with a focus on bandwidth, latency, and reliability
• Contribute to the development of real-time measurement, control, and synchronized timing systems for particle accelerator components
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software engineers to ensure seamless integration into a unified control platform
• Support verification, testing, and technical documentation in accordance with regulated EU medical-device development processes

Your Profile:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a comparable technical discipline
• Strong hands-on experience in FPGA development, particularly with Xilinx Zynq-based embedded platforms
• Solid understanding of FPGA firmware architectures, register maps, and hardware/software integration
• Practical experience with PCIe interfaces, FPGA-to-Linux communication, and DMA-based data transfers
• Strong knowledge of high-speed optical links, GT transceivers, and communication protocol development, ideally including Fiber Link MAP
• Experience in optimizing FPGA communication systems for high throughput and low latency
• Familiarity with embedded Linux and/or bare-metal environments is an advantage
• Experience with real-time systems, synchronization, or timing-critical applications is beneficial
• Knowledge of regulated development environments, ideally within the medical-device industry, is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a structured and collaborative working approach
• Good communication skills in English or German
